PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Five Setters scored double-digit points as the Pace University women's basketball team took the lead early in the game and never looked back for a big win over Concordia College in a non-conference matchup Friday evening at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST QUARTER
- Concordia's Lyric Blanch scored the first basket of the game, but the Setters answered back with a 21-2 run for the remainder of the quarter.
- Junior
Geena Rosalbo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) capped off the Setters' 21-2 run with a jumper at the 2:02 mark and Pace went into the second period with a 19-point lead at 21-4.
2ND QUARTER
- Pace started the second quarter where it left off, going on a 12-0 run after senior
Christina Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic / Iona College) knocked down a triple at the 5:36 mark.
- Concordia's Hadiyah Black connected on a mid-range jumper, but the Setters went on to outscore the Clippers, 11-7, for the remainder of the frame and pushed the lead to 44-11 going into halftime.
HALFTIME STATS
- Sophomore
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) led all scorers with 10 points, and DelliSanti played well all-around, tallying nine points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal.
- Concordia's Black led the team with seven points and three rebounds.
3RD QUARTER
- 17 seconds into the third period, Black finished a layup to score the first basket of the second half.
- Later in the third, Concordia's Jessica Rosalbo connected on a jump shot at the 3:36 mark to make it 55-24, but the Setters' scored nine points to the Clippers' five, closing the quarter with another three by Rubin with five seconds remaining to head into the final frame with a 35-point advantage.
4TH QUARTER
- The Setters' stellar play on both ends of the floor rewarded them with 30 fourth-quarter points, as the Clippers scored just 17 in the last frame, leading to Pace's season-high 48-point victory.
SETTER STATS
- Rubin led the team with 14 points, including four three pointers, and she also pulled down three rebounds.
- DelliSanti registered 13 points, nine boards, two assists and also collected three steals.
- Monteleone finished with 13 points and dished out three assists.
- Senior
Kirsten Dodge (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) came up just short of a double-double as well with 11 points, nine rebounds and a game-best four rejections.
- Junior
Geena Rosalbo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) also tallied 11 points, pulled-down four rebounds and dished out a game-high six assists.
CLIPPERS LEADERS
- Black led the Clippers with 15 points, six rebounds, and also registered two assists
- Julianne Wilkinson finished with 14 points and two steals
- Nicole Nicholson tallied six points, two rebounds and two steals.

- Pace: 8-5
- Concordia: 2-9
WHAT'S NEXT?
- The Setters take a two-week break before returning to action on Friday, Dec. 30, when they visit Saint Thomas Aquinas College for a non-conference matchup in Sparkill, N.Y. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
