Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Pace Field Hockey’s Late Pressure Not Enough in Loss to No. 9 AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) scored with just over five minutes to play to get the Setters back within a goal, leading to a momentum swing that nearly saw them tie the game, but the Pace University field hockey team was unable to knot things up, falling to No. 9 American International College (AIC) on the road Wednesday evening in Northeast-10 Conference action.

LATE FLURRY
- Trailing 2-0, Rose received the ball right in the middle of the circle, and fired it past the keeper to the right of the cage to get Pace back within a goal with 5:32 to play.
- Freshman Rachel Beam (Red Hook, NY/Stissing Mountain) sent in a penalty corner in the 67th minute, and sophomore Jane Kasparian (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) turned and sent one toward the cage, but AIC keeper Taylor Ross came out of the goal to stop the shot and keep the ninth-ranked Yellow Jackets on top.
- Keeping the ball deep in AIC's defensive zone, sophomore Katrina Mikitish (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) tried to score, but her shot went wide.

HOW WE GO THERE
- AIC's Paris McGuckin scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute.
- Emma Heroth added another score in the 34th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
