SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore
Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) scored with just over five minutes to play to get the Setters back within a goal, leading to a momentum swing that nearly saw them tie the game, but the Pace University field hockey team was unable to knot things up, falling to No. 9 American International College (AIC) on the road Wednesday evening in Northeast-10 Conference action.
LATE FLURRY
- Trailing 2-0, Rose received the ball right in the middle of the circle, and fired it past the keeper to the right of the cage to get Pace back within a goal with 5:32 to play.

Rachel Beam (Red Hook, NY/Stissing Mountain) sent in a penalty corner in the 67th minute, and sophomore
Jane Kasparian (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) turned and sent one toward the cage, but AIC keeper Taylor Ross came out of the goal to stop the shot and keep the ninth-ranked Yellow Jackets on top.

Katrina Mikitish (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) tried to score, but her shot went wide.
HOW WE GO THERE
- AIC's Paris McGuckin scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute.
- Emma Heroth added another score in the 34th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead heading into the half.

Paige Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township),
Carly Corbett (Brewster, NY/Brewster), Kasparian and Rose all put shots on goal in the game, while Rose netted hers for her fourth goal of the season.

Lesly Sanchez Alvarez (Stamford, CT/Stamford) stopped three shots in the game.

SETTERS CONTINUE THEIR ROAD STAND
- Pace stays on the road on Saturday, Oct. 8, to take on Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
- The Setters will then take a short trip to No. 10 Adelphi University on Tuesday, Oct. 11, for an NE-10 matchup with the nationally-ranked Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
