NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Big offensive evenings for freshman
Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) and sophomore
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) fueled the Pace University women's volleyball team to a four-set victory over Merrimack College at Hammel Court in Friday night's Northeast-10 Conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
- A close opening set turned strongly in the Setters' favor when a four-point run gave them a 16-10 advantage.
- The Warriors got back within two, but the Setters pulled away again to take a 21-15 lead.
- The teams went back and forth until the Setters closed the game with a 25-19 win.
SET 2
- The second frame was locked up at 16-16 before the Warriors took the lead and pushed it out to 21-17.
- The Setters got back within two, but could not complete the comeback and fell, 25-21, as the Warriors evened the match.
SET 3
- The Setters took an early 3-2 lead in the third game on a kill by Fontanet, and did not trail for the rest of the set.
- The lead grew to 18-10 later on, and the Setters kept up that pace to claim a 25-17 win and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
SET 4
- Pace trailed early on in the fourth set, as the Warriors ran out to a 7-4 lead.
- The teams traded leads late into the set, as Merrimack's Jennifer Cain threw down a kill to claim an 18-17 advantage.
- Merrimack led 20-18 before the Setters scored three straight points to take the lead back.
- Back-to-back points for the Warriors gave them a 22-21 lead.
- Calimpong-Burke answered with a kill to tie it up, and then the Setters forced back-to-back attack errors to earn match point.
- Junior
Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) slammed down the final kill to grab a 25-22 win and a 3-1 victory in the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Calimpong-Burke had a double-double in the win with 15 kills and 10 digs, adding four blocks as well.
- Fontanet led the floor with 18 kills and an impressive .439 hitting percentage on the night.

Samantha Nidini (Houston, TX/Clearlake) dished out a match-high 50 assists.
- Junior
Colette Clarke (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) and sophomore
Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) matched with five blocks on the evening.

Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, NY/St. Anthony's) registered a match-best 19 digs.
- Freshman
Maria Snelling (University Heights, OH/Gilmour Academy) served up four aces.
