Pace Field Hockey Has Record-Setting Day in Victory over Belmont Abbey

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University field hockey team set career-bests in a number of areas during its non-conference victory over Belmont Abbey College on Friday at Peter X. Finnerty Field. The Setters had four different players score in the 6-0 win.
 
RECORD PERFORMANCES
- The Pace field hockey team put six goals on the board, the most goals the Setters have tallied in single game in program history.
- Sophomore Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) posted a career-high three goals in Friday afternoon's matchup.
- Rose's hat trick broke her own program single-season records by pushing her season totals to 10 goals and 23 points.
- Sophomore Jane Kasparian (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) dished out three assists for a personal-best in a Setter uniform.
- Kasparian's four assists on the season tie the program record.
- Senior Brittany Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) scored her first career goal in the second half against the Crusaders.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) scored the Setters' first goal off an assist from sophomore Rachel Platko (Hanover Township, PA/Holy Redeemer) on a penalty corner to give the Setters a 1-0 advantage.
- In the 24th minute, sophomore Katrina Mikitish (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) beat two defenders from the top left corner to net her first goal of the season and make it a 2-0 lead.
- Rose scored another goal for Pace in the 26th minute. She found the back of the net after responding to a rebound, getting an assist from Kasparian.
- Pace then netted its final goal of the first half when sophomore Paige Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) assisted Platko on a one-timer inside the left post, giving the Setters a 4-0 edge heading into the break.
- Rose completed the hat trick four minutes into the second half. Kasparian was credited with the assist.
- The final goal of the game came from Brittany Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) in the 61st minute after she moved to forward from defense. Kasparian set her up right in front of the cage, recording her third assist on the score.
 
PACE LEADERS
- Rose led all scorers with three goals.
- Kasparian finished with three assists for the Setters.
- Platko netted her third goal of the season.
- Mikitish scored her first goal of the season and the second of her career.
- Brittany Predmore (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) tallied the first goal and points of her career.
- Junior goalkeeper Lesly Sanchez Alvarez (Stamford, CT/Stamford) did not need to make a save to earn the win and improve to 8-8.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Corrine Nocera (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) took over in the second half and stopped one shot.

COMING UP NEXT
- The Setters resume NE-10 action as they travel to New Haven, Conn. to play Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
