Pace Women’s Soccer Falls on the Road to No. 7 Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Pace University women's soccer team took a tough 4-1 loss on the road to No. 7 Adelphi University at Motamed Field Tuesday evening in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morgan Santoro scored from 10-yards out in the fifth minute to give the Panthers an early lead.
- Adelphi then scored in the 21st minute after Jeanine Nunez dribbled along the right baseline and dished it off to Taylor Sipos who finished on a one-touch goal.
- Nunez picked up her second assist of the evening in the second half, setting up Santoro's second goal in the 61st minute to give the Panthers a three-score advantage.
- Santoro completed the hat trick in the 83rd minute off a touch pass from Sarah Barone for her 20th goal of the year.
- With less than 10 minutes remaining sophomore Drew Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central) assisted sophomore Noreen Carlin (Sayville, NY/Sayville) for a header off a corner kick to get Pace on the board.
 
PACE LEADERS
- Carlin scored on a header for her first goal of the season.
- Ribadeneyra registered her team-leading fifth assist.
- Junior Goalkeeper Hayley Pascoal (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) rejected seven shots for the third straight game, but took her first lost of the season to fall to 3-1.

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Pace returns home and invites the University of New Haven to Pace Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 22 for another NE-10 game at 4 p.m.
- Saturday's contest is Senior Day for the Pace soccer team. Seniors Alyssa Zeoli (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay East Fishkill), Teresa Fotino (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central), Natalie Marrone (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale), Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) and Ashley Kenny (Chester, NY/Washingtonville) will all be honored prior to the opening kickoff.
