Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville), backed by the third shutout in three starts by junior goalkeeper
Hayley Pascoal (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township), lifted the Pace University women's soccer team to a 1-0 upset of No. 7 Stonehill College on the road at Skyhawk Field Saturday afternoon in a crucial Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
PASCOAL BLANKS ANOTHER ONE
- Since making her first career start last Sunday, Pascoal is yet to allow a goal, recording shutout victories over Southern New Hampshire University, American International College and Stonehill.
- She is yet to allow a goal in 288:24 between the pipes this season with 19 total saves.
PACE TAKES DOWN TOP-10 TEAM
- The Setters defeated a Top-10 nationally-ranked opponent on Saturday for the second straight season.
- Pace defeated No. 9 College of Saint Rose on Sept. 30, 2015, also by a score of 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The only goal of the game was scored in the 23rd minute when sophomore
Robyn Seward (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay East Fishkill) crossed one over to Williams, who turned and fired it inside the back-left post to score what proved to be the difference-maker in Saturday's matchup.
PACE LEADERS
- Pascoal made seven stops to keep the seventh-ranked Skyhawks off the board in Saturday's win, improving to 3-0 on the year.
- Williams scored the only goal, and led all players with five total shots.
- Seward tallied the assist on Williams' first-half score.
