PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University field hockey team fell to Assumption College on Saturday afternoon, 2-1, in Northeast-10 Conference action at Peter X. Finnerty Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Assumption's Sam Tepper scored in the 10th minute of the game for the only goal of the first half.
- Sophomore
Halley Rose (Dauphin, PA/Central Dauphin) blasted in a goal off a penalty corner sent in by freshman
Louisa Wegener (Hamburg, Germany/Wilhelm Gymnasium) in the 50th minute to tie the score.
- At the 55:04 mark, Assumption scored the last goal of the game off a rebound that was then rebounded and sent in by Allison Sheahan for the game-winner.
PACE LEADERS
- Rose netted her fifth goal of the season after attempting four shots and putting two on target.
- Wegener assisted Rose on the second-half goal.
- Junior goalkeeper
Lesly Sanchez Alvarez (Stamford, CT/Stamford) finished with three saves, but falls to 6-7 on the year.
GREYHOUND STATS
- Tepper and Sheahan scored a goal for Assumption.
- Andrea Koslowski assisted Sheahan on the game-winning goal.
- Goalkeeper Sarah Bodzinski made two saves in the win.
