PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women's volleyball team let go of an early lead and dropped a five-set Northeast-10 Conference battle to Le Moyne College, 3-2, Friday evening at West Genesee High School.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) scored the first point of the game off an assist from
Amy Vicic (Surrey, British Columbia/Earl Marriott). A kill from Vicic later on set up a 5-0 run by the Setters for a 13-8 lead. The Setters took the set, 25-14.
- The Dolphins took the first point in the second set followed by a kill from senior
Samantha Marquez (Palmetto Bay, FL/Miami Palmetto/Palm Beach State College) to get the Setters on the board.
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina)'s kill set up another 5-0 run for the Setters to put them ahead, 20-13. Pace claimed the second set, 25-18.
- Both teams battled back and forth for majority of the third frame before a Le Moyne kill set up a run by the Dolphins to take a 12-7 lead. The Dolphins kept the lead for the rest of the set, eventually winning, 25-21.
- The Setters had an early lead over the Dolphins, 3-0. Le Moyne fought back to later tie the game at 18. A kill by Le Moyne set up a 7-0 run to finish out the set, 25-18.
- The final set started in favor of the Setters with back to back kills. A kill from the Dolphins set up a 5-0 run, giving them an 8-5 lead. Le Moyne went on to take the final set, 15-9.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Junior
Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) led all players with 19 kills. She also added 17 digs.
- Sophomore
Claudia Fontanet (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) finished with 16 kills and also picked up 19 digs.
- Sophomore
Kathleen Benson (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) had 10 kills and matched freshman
Tatjana Calimpong-Burke (Waianae, HI/Iolani) with a team-high five blocks.
- Freshman
Danielle Vaiano (Seaford, NY/St. Anthony's) contributed a team-high 25 digs.
- Junior
Amy Vicic (Surrey, British Columbia/Earl Marriott) dished out 40 assists and contributed 17 digs.
