Lecker and Mason Claim Setter of the Week Awards, Presented by IvyRehab

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Junior outside hitter Sydney Lecker (Littleton, CO/Chatfield) of the Pace University women's volleyball team, and junior wide receiver Tyler Mason (Mohegan Lake, NY/Walter Panas) of the football team  were selected as the Setters of the Week, presented by IvyRehab, for the week ending Oct. 9, 2016.

Lecker had a strong week, averaging 3.67 kills per set in a pair of matches for the Setters. She led the team with a Setter season-high 22 kills in Friday night's victory over Adelphi University, adding 11 digs for a double-double. She also threw down 11 kills, picked up 10 digs and totaled three blocks in Tuesday's match against American International College.

Mason led the Setters with 106 total yards from scrimmage in Saturday's matchup with Southern Connecticut State University, earning him Homecoming MVP honors. He was the team's leading receiver with 73 yards and a touchdown, and also amassed 33 yards on the ground. Mason got the latter on a perfectly executed fake punt, which was snapped directly to him and rushed for 33 yards, helping set up the Setters' first score of the game. He was then hit deep on a beautiful flea flicker for a 73-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown.
