PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Senior
Jamir Gee scored his second special teams touchdown of the year when he brought a kickoff to the house from 95 yards out in a loss to Stonehill. Following the loss, Pace falls to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play while Stonehill advances to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the NE-10.
Late in the first quarter, the Setter defense began to heat up and apply pressure on the Stonehill quarterback. Pace registered back-to-back sacks to push back the Skyhawk offense.
Gavin Maher and
Kenneth Reilly combined for the first sack before
David Grant and
Robert Planter brought down the opposing quarterback on the very next play.
The Setters got on the board early in the second quarter. After Stonehill punched in a touchdown and kicked off to Pace, senior Gee took the kickoff 95 yards for a Setter touchdown. The score marked his second special teams touchdown of the young season and cut the Stonehill advantage to 21-7.
A few drives later, with the Setters now on defense, Stonehill quarterback Matt Foltz tossed a seam route to his tight end, but was picked off by

Midway through the third quarter, freshman
Kadeem Langhorne halted the Stonehill offense when he came up with a key sack on third down. After another solid Gee punt return gave the Setters great field position, freshman quarterback
Nick Fountis was able to take advantage when he hit fellow freshman
Alex Toplyn for a 25 yard touchdown pass.
The Pace offense again began to click late in the fourth quarter.
Delaney Wallace accounted for 23 yards on four rushing attempts in a drive that also included three Fountis completions. He hit
Mohammad Masoud for gains of five and six yards before connecting with
Marquis Pickering for a two yard gain.
Michael Scotman also got involved as he busted up the gut for a nine yard carry. However the Setters were unable to come away with any points in the drive as a late turnover ultimately ended the game.
Wallace led the Setters with 40 yards rushing on ten attempts while Scotman contributed 19 yards on five carries. Fountis tossed for 38 yards and a touchdown on 4-9 passing while freshman
