BRIARCLIFF, NY- Senior
Hana Wright tied the program's career homerun record with her 22nd long ball in her four seasons as the Setters swept a doubleheader against the Dominican Chargers in non-conference action. The Setters took the opener 10-2 in five innings and completed the sweep with a 10-2 in six innings in the nightcap. Pace improves to 22-14, while the Chargers fall to 25-17.

In the opener, Dominican took an early lead with a pair of run in the second inning. The Setters rallied in the third as
Jordan Chillinsky singled and
Larissa Labs drew a walk.
Nikole Larm put the Setters in the lead with a three-run homerun.
Amanda Limon followed the next batter with a solo shot, while
Ashley Lew hit a two-run homerun later in the frame to put the Setters up 6-2.

Pace added four runs in the fifth as Larm was clutch against with a RBI double, while
Natalie Gellos added a two-run single. Chillinsky drove in the final run with a groundout. On the mound,
Jaclyn Flores tossed three innings, allowing two runs on four hits and struck out two to improve to 5-4 on the season.
Kaitlynn Nelson came on in relief, pitching two scoreless innings and allowing one hit.

In the nightcap, the Setters took advantage of Dominican miscues to score six runs in the first two innings. Pace got their first two runs on a wild pitch and failed pick off of a runner on third base. Wright added two more in the inning as she connected on her program-tying homerun for a 4-0 Pace lead.

Pace added to their lead in the second as Labs hit a sacrifice fly and
Shelby Yung scored on a two-base passed ball as the Setters extended to a 6-0 lead. Domincan got two back in the third but the Setters closed the game out in the bottom of the sixth.

Tara Bernstein drew a leadoff walk, while Yung reached on an infield single and moved to second on an error.
Kelly Whritenour singled in the first run of the inning, while Yung and Whritenour both came around to score later in the inning on passed balls. Limon singled in the final run of the game as the Setters completed the sweep.

Caitlin McCann (8-4) turned in a complete game effort, allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out one.

With other action around the Northeast-10 Conference this afternoon, the Setters has clinched in the #2 seed in the NE-10 Southwest Division and receive a first-round bye in next week's NE-10 Championship. Pace will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday with the site and opponent to be announced after the regular season concludes this weekend. Â

The Setters host Chestnut Hill on Sunday, April 26 in a non-conference doubleheader at 12 pm on the Pace Briarcliff campus. Pace's three seniors will be honored prior to the first game.
