SPRINGFIELD, MA-
Caitlin McCann tossed a four-hitter in the nightcap as the Setters split a doubleheader against American International. The Yellow Jackets took the opener 3-2 but the Setters won in the nightcap 11-1. The Setters move to 18-12 overall and 10-6 in the Northeast-10 Southwest Division, while the Yellow Jackets stand at 6-20 and 3-10 in division play.

In the opener, American International got a run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Setters answered in the top of the second as
Nikole Larm blasted a solo homerun to even the score at 1-1. The Yellow Jackets got runs in the fourth and fifth to go back in front at 3-1. Pace rallied in the sixth as
Shelby Yung led off the inning with a single and move to second on a sacrifice bunt.
Jeane Drury drove in Yung to cut the lead to 3-2 but the Setters fell short in the opener.

Kaitlynn Nelson took the loss, falling to 6-5 on the season as she tossed a complete game, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and struck out five.

In the nightcap, the Setters struck in the first as Yung and Drury singled and scored on singles by Larm and
Haley Hernandez for a 2-0 lead.
Hana Wright blasted a three-run homerun for a 5-0 Pace lead. Wright moved into second place all-time on the school's homerun list with 21 and trails Pace alum
Angela Locsin (2002-05) by one.

American International got one back in their half of the first but the Setters added more runs in the second Yung led off with a triple and scored on a Drury single. Pace tacked on two more in the fourth as they loaded the bases. Larm and Hernandez singled, while Wright drew a walk.
Amanda Limon drove in two runs with a double. The Setters added three more runs in the fifth to end the game after five innings.

Yung and Larm both went 3-for-3, scoring three runs each with Larm netting an RBI. Drury and Limon both went 2-for-3 with two runs scored each and Drury posted an RBI. On the mound, McCann (7-4) tossed a complete game, allowing four hits and struck out three.
