Kaitlynn Nelson tossed a complete game shutout in the nightcap to help the Setters earn a split against the New Haven Chargers. New Haven took the opener 2-1 but the Setters won the second game 6-0. The Setters move to 17-9 overall and 9-5 in the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division.

In the opener, the Chargers got a pair of runs in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Setters got on the board in the sixth as
Larissa Labs led off with a double and
Nikole Larm drew a walk
Hana Wright drove in the lone Pace run of the opener with a single.
Caitlin McCann tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits to fall to 6-4 on the season. Â

In the nightcap, the Setters got on the board in the opening inning as
Shelby Yung drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on a
Jeane Drury single. Pace added a run in the third as Drury singled with one out and scored on a Larm double for a 2-0 lead.

Pace tacked on three more in the fifth as Labs led off with a single. She stole second and scored as Drury reached on an error. Larm blasted a two-run homerun to put the Setters in front 5-0. The Setters added one in the sixth as Yung and Labs hit back-to-back doubles with two outs.

On the hill, Nelson shined, tossing a complete game shutout allowing three hits and struck out five to improve to 6-3. Larm and Drury both went 2-for-4 in the nightcap with Larm netting three RBI and Drury scored a pair of runs.

The first NCAA East Region Poll was release today with the Setters earning the sixth position.

The Setters return to action as they travel to LIU Post on Thursday, April 16 for a non-conference doubleheader at 3 pm.
