BRIARCLIFF, N.Y.- The Pace softball team dropped a pair of games to the Adelphi Panthers in a Northeast-10 Southwest Division doubleheader. The Setters fell in the opener 3-0 and came up short the nightcap 5-3. Pace falls to 11-6 overall and 3-3 in the NE-10 SW Division, while the Panthers improve to 8-12 and 5-1 in division play.

In the opener, the Setters were limited to four hits in the game with
Jeane Drury having the only extra base hit with a sixth inning double.
Jaclyn Flores went the distance for the Setters on the mound, allowing three runs on nine hits, while striking out three to fall to 3-1 on the season.

In the nightcap, Adelphi struck first with a run in the opening inning. The Setters answered in the second as they loaded the bases with two walks and a hit by pitch.
Jordan Chillinsky drove in the tying run with a fielder's choice to score
Hana Wright. Pace took the lead in the third as
Natalie Gellos doubled with two out and scored on a single by
Surina Sandhu.Â
The Panthers took the lead in the fifth with four runs to go ahead 5-2. The Setters plated a run in the seventh as they loaded the bases with one out. Drury and
Larissa Labs reached on infield singles, while Sandhu was hit by a pitch.
Ashley Lew reached on an infield single to score Drury but the Setters fell short of a comeback.

Starter
Caitlin McCann (4-2) went the first five innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, while striking out two. Reliever
Kaitlynn Nelson came on in relief, tossing two scoreless innings. Drury, Gellos and Labs all went 2-for-4 in the second game.

The Setters return to action as they host The College of Saint Rose on Thursday, April 2 at 3:00 pm in an NE-10 SW Division doubleheader on the Pace Briarcliff Campus.
