ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior center
Kirsten Dodge (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) notched a career-high 19 points in a losing effort against the Saint Rose Golden Knights. She connected on six field goals in the fourth quarter alone, but Pace eventually fell to the Golden Knights, 58-46. The Setters drop to 3-1, 1-1 NE-10 after the loss while Saint Rose advances to 3-2, 2-1 NE-10.
After a defensive battle early on, senior
Shanice Maynard (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson / Coppin State) put the Setters on the board with a layup at the 6:41 mark. The bucket sparked a run of nine straight Setter points as sophomore
Gabriella Rubin (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) followed the basket with a triple before
Geena Rosalbo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) and
Yuni Sher (Poughkeepsie, NY/Long Island Lutheran) each added jumpers to put Pace ahead, 9-2. As time began to dwindle in the opening quarter, senior
Jaclyn Oskam (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central / Quinnipiac University) connected from downtown to stretch the lead to 12-6. Dodge added a jumper for her first points of the contest before Rosalbo added another mid-ranger to give the Setters a 16-9 lead after one.
Rubin kicked off the scoring the second period with a three pointer 2:24 into the frame. She added two baskets down the stretch in the quarter while Dodge connected on a pair of free throws. Pace was outscored by the Golden Knights, 18-9 in the second and trailed by two at the half.
Rubin led the Setters with 10 points in the opening half, adding two rebounds and an assist. Dodge and Rosalbo each chipped in four points with Rosalbo adding three assists and three rebounds.
Dodge took over in the fourth quarter. Rosalbo hit the opening basket of the period before Dodge exploded to score the next 13 Setter points. Thanks to Rosalbo's jumper and three quick layups by Dodge, Pace was able to cut the double digit deficit down to just seven. Dodge added seven more points in the final 3:44 of play, but it wasn't enough as the Setters dropped their first road tilt of the season, 58-46.
Dodge recorded her third career double-double as she added 11 boards and a block to her career-best 19 points. Rubin finished with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists while Maynard totaled six points, five rebounds, and three assists. Rosalbo scored four points with four rebounds and a team-high five assists.

th when they travel to Rockville Centre, N.Y. for a non-conference battle against Molloy College at 12:00 p.m.
