Pearson Nets 19 Points in Loss to Saint Michael’s

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Kyle Pearson led the Setters with 19 points but the Pace men's basketball team fell to the Saint Michael's Purple Knights 76-59 in Northeast-10 Conference action.
 
The Setters fall to 5-15 overall and 1-11 in the NE-10, while the Purple Knights improve to 12-5 and 8-4 in conference play.
 
Pace took an early one point lead after a Pearson triple in the first minute of play. The Purple Knights took the lead, extending to as much as nine points at the 16:13 mark.
 
The Setters rallied as they scored 11 of the next 16 points to trim the score down the three. Pearson connected on a trifecta, while Shelton Mickell totaled five points, including a triple. Jaylen Mann capped the offensive at the 12:38 mark as he hit from downtown to cut the score to 17-14. Saint Michael's used a 18-4 run to push ahead by double digits and held the lead the rest of the way.
 
For Pace, Pearson led the way with 19 points, two rebounds and two steals, while Mickell chipped in 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Mann totaled 15 points and four boards as he connected on 5-of-10 from long range. Bryan Rivers contributed seven rebounds and a career-high eight assists.
 
The Setters are back home on Tuesday, January 27 as they host the Assumption Greyhounds in an NE-10 clash 7:30 pm at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
