PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Junior
Brittani Muller (Esparto, CA/Esparto) tallied 12 kills in two matches as the Pace Volleyball team opened their 2014 season at the Dowling Tournament. The Setters fell to host Dowling 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 16-25) and NYIT 3-0 (13-25, 13-25, 23-25).

In the opening match against Dowling, Muller tallied eight kills and two total blocks, while sophomore transfer
Samantha Marquez (Palmetto Bay, FL/Miami Palmetto/Palm Beach State College) added five kills and nine digs. Junior
Sara Anastasi (Branchburg, NJ/Hunterdon Central) led the team with 20 assists, while junior
Rebecca Italiano (Lynbrook, NY/East Rockaway) totaled a team-high 13 digs.

In the second match, junior
Alyssa Marchino (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) and Marquez each recorded five kills with Marchino adding 10 digs. Junior
Macey Danker (La Vista, NE/Paillion La Vista/Redlands CC) chipped in four kills and seven digs, while Italiano totaled seven digs.

The Setters wrap up play at the Dowling Tournament on Saturday as they take on Nyack at 9 am on the campus of Molloy College.
