EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – The Pace Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Day 1 of the East Stroudsburg Tournament. The Setters fell to Barry 3-0 and Bloomfield 3-1.
In the opening match, freshman
Haley Kain leads the Setters with five kills in today's opening match as Pace was defeated by Barry 3-0 (11-25, 19-25, 12, 25). During the contest, junior
Sara Anastasi had a team-high nine assists to go alongside her four digs and one kill. Junior
Alyssa Marchino posted a team-high 10 digs in the match along with an assist and trio of kills. Junior
Macey Danker got into the action grabbing six digs and three kills.
In their second match, the Setters fell to lost to Bloomfield 3-1 (26-28, 17-25, 25-17, 14-25). Anastasi totaled 20 assists, while
Rebecca Italiano tallied 18 digs. Marchino led Pace with 14 kills along with seven digs.
Miki Carver chipped in 12 assists and six digs.
The Setters finish up the action at the East Stroudsburg Tournament tomorrow as they take on West Chester at noon before closing out the event with East Stroudsburg at 2 pm.
