BRIARCLIFF, NY- Freshman Shelby Yung (Upland, CA/Upland) (Upland, CA/Upland) went 2-for-3 but the Setters came up short to the Adelphi Panthers 3-1 in their Northeast-10 Southwest Division opener. Pace falls to 3-12 overall and 0-1 in the NE-10 Southwest Division, while the Panthers improve to 10-8 and 1-0 in division play.

The Panthers plated a run in the third and added two more in the sixth for a 3-0 lead. The Setters got a run back in the sixth as Jeane Drury (Flanders, NJ/Morris Catholic High School) (Flanders, NJ/Morris Catholic) reached on an infield single with two outs. Hana Wright (Hillsboro, OR/Valley Catholic) also reached safely on an infield single and Drury was able to score from first base on a Panther throwing error.

On the mound, Kaitlyn Nelson (Ojai, CA/Nordhoff) tossed a complete game, allowing three runs on five hits and struck out four as she falls to 2-5 on the season.

The Setters head to The College of Saint Rose this weekend with a single game on Friday, March 28 at 3 pm and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29 starting at 12:30 pm.
