Women’s Basketball Falls Short to Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, NY- The Pace women's basketball team fell to the Adelphi Panthers 73-57 in Northeast-10 Conference action.

The Setters fall to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the NE-10, while the Panthers improve to 7-0 and 4-0 in conference play.

The Setters took an early 12-9 lead paced by Margo Hackett and Jaclyn Oskam trifectas. The Panthers answered, taking an eight point lead late into the half. Pace closed the gap before halftime as Oskam connected from downtown and Kirsten Dodge hit a pair of free throws as the Setters trailed 33-24 at the break.

The Panthers extended their lead to as much as 18 points at 52-34 midway through the second half. The Setters battled back with a 12-2 run to close to within eight points at 54-46, including scoring 10 unanswered points in that stretch. Hackett netted seven points, including a triple, while Oskam capped the run with a three-pointer.

Adelphi pushed it back to double digits but Geena Rosalbo and Yuni Sher hit four from the line to pull within eight points at 58-50 with 5:24 left in the game. The Panthers pushed it back into double figures down the stretch.

For the Setters, Hackett led the way with 13 points, while Oskam tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Sher finished with 10 points and eight caroms.

The Setters host Le Moyne College on Saturday, December 6 for an NE-10 game at 1:30 pm at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
