Kyle Pearson totaled 12 points as the Pace men's basketball team fell to #2 Southern Connecticut 104-69 in Northeast-10 Conference action.
The Setters fall to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the NE-10, while the Owls improve to 6-0, 2-0 in conference play.
The Setters raced out to an early lead as
Khalil Brown dropped in the first four points of the contest to help Pace build a 7-2 lead at the 16:14 mark. The Owls answered taking a 12-11 lead at the 12:44 mark but Setters pulled even at 16 on a
Victor Jusino put back.
Southern Connecticut stretch their lead to nine points but a
Mike Demello triple kept the score to six points at 29-23 with 6:29 left in the opening half. The Owls extended their lead to double digits and led 45-31 at the break.
For the Setters, Pearson led the way with 14 points and four caroms, while
Shelton Mickell chipped in 13 points and three boards. Brown finished with 12 points and two boards.
The Setters host the Georgian Court Lions on Saturday, November 29 at 3:30 pm at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
