Box Score PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University volleyball team battled the Bentley to the wire in the first two sets, but were upended by the Falcons 3-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference match on Friday night by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-10.
Alyssa Marchino led the Setters with 13 kills to go along with eight digs, three blocks, and a .375 hitting percentage for the match.
Rebecca Italiano had 15 digs while
Miki Carver tallied 19 assists.
The first set was tight throughout as after Bentley (14-9, 9-2 NE-10) started the set with a 5-1 lead, Pace would come back to tie the contest at 9-9. From there, neither team would hold more than a three point lead in the set. The Setters (4-19, 1-9 NE-10) would take a 23-22 lead on a kill by Italiano before Bentley would rally to for the win and take a 1-0 lead. The second was also a close set where neither team held more than a four point lead.
Pace has a short turnaround before taking on Stonehill in their regular season home finale in an NE-10 contest at Saturday 2:00 pm.
