PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University volleyball team got seven kills each from
Alyssa Marchino and
Samantha Marquez, but the Setters fell to the Adelphi Panthers 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Friday evening.
Pace (3-10, 0-3 NE-10) started off well, taking a 9-8 lead in the first set before the Panthers (6-9, 4-0 NE-10) scored 11 of the next 13 points to take a 19-11 lead, eventually claiming the set.
For the match, Marquez led the Setters with a .385 hitting percentage.
Rebecca Italiano had 12 digs while
Miki Carver contributed with 10 assists.
Pace has a short turnaround as the Setters play tomorrow morning at 11:00 am when they host the Mercy Mavericks in a non-conference matchup.
