WALTHAM, MA- The Pace Football team fell to the Bentley Falcons 31-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action.
The Setters fall to 0-8 and 0-7 in the NE-10, while the Falcons improve to 3-5 and 2-5 in conference play.
The Falcons took a first half lead as quarterback Danny Guadagnoli tosses a pair of touchdowns for an early second quarter 14-0 lead. Bentley added a short touchdown run by Martin Bannerman and a 32-yard field goal by Michael Baron late in the half for a 24-0 halftime advantage. Bentley added a Guadagnoli touchdown pass in the third quarter to account for the scoring on the day.
For the Setters, freshman quarterback
Steven Demeo tossed for 123 yards in the air on 13-of-20 passing, while junior receiver
Kyle Johnson led the way with seven receptions for 88 yards.
Jhalen Bien-Aime totaled seven catches for 52 yards. On defense,
Tyler Owens and
Matthew Corrie each totaled nine tackles with Owens adding two for losses.
Jamir Gee tallied five tackles and an interception.
The Setters return home next Saturday, November 1 as they take on the New Haven Chargers in an NE-10 match-up at Ann M. Dorner Middle School at 12 pm. Next Saturday is the final home game of the season and prior to the game, the Pace Football seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
