Football Seniors Honored on Senior Day

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace Football team honored its 10 seniors in a pregame ceremony, recognizing them for the contribution to Pace Athletics and the football program. The Setters fell in their final home game of the season 40-0 to the New Haven Chargers in Northeast-10 Conference action.  
 
The Setters fall to 0-9 and 0-8 in the NE-10, while the Chargers improve to 6-3 and 6-2 in conference play.
 
The Pace defense held the Chargers off the board in the opening quarter and Addison Casey recovered a New Haven fumble on their opening possession. New Haven got on the board early in the second quarter as Brian Roberted booted a 27-yard field goal. The Chargers added a pair of touchdowns in the quarter as Joey Bradley tossed a TD pass and Andre Anderson rushed in a score. Roberts capped the half with a 25-yard field goal as time expired in the first half as the Chargers led 20-0 at the break.
 
On the second half opening kickoff, Joe Roman forced the New Haven returner to fumble which was recovered by Jhalen Bien-Aime to give the Setters the first possession of the second half. The Chargers added three scores in the second half as Bradley tossed his second score of the season early in the third quarter. Anderson and Lemar Thomas capped the scoring on the day for the Chargers reaching the end zone on the ground.
 
For the Setters, Justin Fred totaled 10 tackles, while Roman added nine tackles along with a forced fumble and a pass defense.
 
Pace Football recognized its 10 seniors prior to the game which included four-year player quarterback/wide receiver Brian Beeker, offensive linemen Chris Hartney and Connor Oglesby along with defensive back Joe Roman and running back Blair Wynn. The other five seniors that were honored were defensive lineman Steve Atti,  running back Jashon Dawson, defensive back Akwasi Degraft, running back Ransford Quarrie and wideout Corey Reeder.
 
The Setters travel to American International College next Saturday, November 8 for an NE-10 with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm.
