PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace Football team fell to the Stonehill College Skyhawks 33-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon. Pace Athletes held its Annual Pace Goes Pink initiative as they collected donations for the Northern Westchester Hospital Breast Institute.
The Setters fall to 0-7 and 0-6 in the NE-10, while the Skyhawks improve to 3-4 and even their conference record at 3-3 on the season
The Setters defense forced the Skyhawks to punt on two of their first three possessions with linebacker
Addison Casey ending the other drive with an interception in Stonehill territory. The Skyhawks totaled three first half touchdowns, two coming on short runs by Gordon McLeod and Deontae Ramey-Doe. Tom Sydeski hit Nat Robitaille for a 73-yard touchdown late in the second quarter to lead 19-0 at the half. NE-10 blocked kicks leader
Tyler Owens took over sole possession of first place with a pair of blocked extra points in the first half for the Setters.
Stonehill was able to find the end zone two times in the third quarter to cap the scoring on the day.
Jamir Gee prevented additional points by the Skyhawk offense as he intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it close to midfield early in the fourth quarter.
For the Setters,
Kyle Johnson finished with six receptions for 57 yards, while
Corey Reeder totaled five catches for 35 yards.
Ransford Quarrie led the Pace ground attack with 53 yards on 12 carries. On defense, Gee led the way with 10 tackles, 2.5 for losses and an interception. Owens recorded nine tackles and blocked a pair of extra points
. The Setters wrap up October on the road as they travel to Bentley on Saturday, October 25 for a 1 pm kickoff against the Falcons in an NE-10 match-up. Pace is back home on Saturday, November 1 as they host New Haven at 12 pm. The New Haven game will be Senior Day and Cell Phone wallets will be given away to all fans in attendance.
