Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Earns Road Win at Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, NH – Sophomore Yuni Sher (Poughkeepsie, NY/Long Island Lutheran) (Poughkeepsie, NY/Long Island Lutheran) recorded her third straight double-double and junior Margo Hackett (Pawling, NY/Pawling) (Pawling, NY/Pawling) became the eighth player in program history hit 100 career three-pointers as the Pace University women's basketball team topped the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen 59-43 in a Northeast-10 Conference contest.

Sher and freshman Shanice Allen (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) led Pace (3-12, 2-7 NE-10) with 15 points each while Sher tallied 11 rebounds. For Allen, it was her fourth straight game in double figures and her 7-for-11 shooting performance from the floor makes her 24-for-38 from the field since the beginning of 2014. Hackett added 10 points in the contest.

The Setters and Penmen (5-10, 3-7 NE-10) played evenly through the midway mark of the first half when a layup by Allen with 10:37 remaining in the frame put Pace ahead 17-16. That bucket ignited a 9-2 run that saw the Setters expand their lead to 24-18 and eventually take a 27-22 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Pace extended their lead, scoring 28 of the first 39 points of the frame. The Setters earned their largest lead of the night when Hackett knocked down her second triple of the game with 4:28 remaining, giving her 100 for her career.

Defense was also a key for Pace as the Setters held Southern New Hampshire to 26.4% shooting for the game.

Pace returns to action on Saturday, January 18 when they will host Saint Anselm at 1:30 pm.
