BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- Charlie Galasso (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) went 3-for-6 with two RBI's and two runs scored as the Setters cruised past the Clippers of Concordia College 14-5 in non-conference action. The Setters improve to 29-14 overall, while the Clippers fall to 22-18-1 on the season.
The Setters got on the board in the opening inning as Ian Wukitsch (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) drew a bases loaded walk for a 1-0 Pace lead. Pace added five runs in the fourth inning as Mike Rooney (Carmel, NY/Carmel) (Carmel, NY/Carmel) and Galasso started the inning with run scoring singles for a 3-0 lead. The Setters extended to a 5-0 lead as Brandon Martineson (Prospect, KY/Warwick (NY)) (Prospect, KY/ Warwick, NY) and Tom Midolo (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) capped the inning with RBI hits.
Pace broke the game open in the seventh with six runs as James Pjura (Shelton, CT/Shelton) (Shelton, CT/Shelton) had a two-run double, while Wukitsch added a run scoring double in the inning. For the Setters, Martineson and Midolo both had three RBI's, while Chris Gili (Manorville, NY/Eastport-South Manor) (Manorville, NY/Eastport-South Manor) went 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
On the hill, Ryan Mihalkovitz (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) started, going six innings, allowing three hits and one unearned run to improve to 2-0 on the season. Pace wraps up their regular season on the road with a pivotal three-game series against the Southern Connecticut State University Owls in NE-10 Southwest Division play. The Setters take on the Owls on Friday, May 3 with one game at 3 pm and conclude the series on Saturday, May 4 with a doubleheader starting at noon.
