GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The Setters fell to the Panthers of Adelphi 15-1 in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action. Pace falls to 28-14 overall and 12-6 in the division, while the Panthers improve to 21-22-1 and 10-8 in division play.
The Panthers took the lead early with four runs in the first, two in the second and three in the fourth for a 9-0 lead. Pace got their run in the sixth as Brandon Martineson (Prospect, KY/Warwick (NY)) (Prospect, KY/Warwick) doubled with one out and moved to third on a wild pitch. Martineson scored following an Adelphi error. The Panthers added six runs in the final three innings for their final run total.
For Pace, Martineson went 2-for-4, while Bobby Horn (Stamford, CT/Westhill) (Stamford, CT/Westhill) went 2-for-3 in the game. On the hill, Jonathan Chudy (Goshen, NY/Goshen) got the start, going two innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, while striking out one to fall to 3-2 on the season.
The Setters return to action on Thursday, May 2 as they take on Concordia College in non-conference action at 3:00 pm.
