Baseball Falls to Le Moyne In Pitchers' Duel

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Michael Tamburino (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) tossed a complete game but the Setters came up short to the Dolphins of Le Moyne College 1-0 in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action. Pace, ranked #3 in this week's NCAA East Region poll, falls to 28-13 overall and 12-5 in the Southwest Division, while the Dolphins improve to 19-22 and 10-7 in division play. The Setters also fall into a first place tie with the University of New Haven with only four division games remaining.

The Setters were limited to four hits in the game as Dolphin starter Casey Cannon also went the distance in a pitching-dominated game. Le Moyne got the lone run of the game in the seventh with two outs off Tamburino. The Setters had a scoring chance in the sixth with runners on first and third and one out. A line drive double play ended the threat. Pace also had runners in scoring position in the eighth and ninth innings but could not get the tying run to the plate.

For Pace, Charlie Galasso (West Harrison, NY/Harrison) went 2-for-4 for the Setters in the game. Tamburino (2-3) struck out four, allowing eight hits in the game. For Le Moyne, Cannon (3-4) also struck out four, allowing four hits.

The Setters return to action on Tuesday, April 30 as they travel to Garden City, NY for a Northeast-10 Southwest Division game against the Panthers of Adelphi University at 3:30 pm.
