NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Pace softball team fell to the Owls of Southern Connecticut State 6-1 in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action. The Setters move to 11-15 on the season and 3-9 in the division, while the Owls improve to 23-14 and 10-2 in division play.
The Owls jumped out to a lead in the third inning as they plated four runs. Southern Connecticut added a pair of runs in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. The Setters got on the board in the sixth as Jeane Drury (Flanders, NJ/Morris Catholic High School) (Flanders, NJ/Morris Catholic) led off the inning with a single and came around to score on a double by Hana Wright (Hillsboro, OR/Valley Catholic) (Hillsboro, OR/Valley Catholic).
On the mound, Chelsea Shea (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) got the start, going five innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, while striking out five to fall to 6-7 on the season. Kelly Fisher (Castle Rock, CO/Douglas County) came on in relief, pitching one scoreless inning and struck out one.  
The Setters travel to American International on Wednesday, April 17 for an NE-10 Southwest Division single game at 4:30 pm.
