GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The Pace Softball team opened Northeast-10 Conference Division play with a 3-0 loss to the Panthers of Adelphi University. The Setters fall to 5-2 and 0-1 in the NE-10 Southwest Division, while the Panthers improve to 11-6 overall and 1-0 in division play.
The Panthers got on the board early in the game as they scored a run in the opening inning. Adelphi added a pair of (insurance) runs in the fifth. The Setters were limited to one hit on a Rachael McMahon (Corona, CA/Esperanza) (Corona, CA/Esperanza) single in the sixth inning.
On the mound, Chelsea Shea (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) falls to 2-1 as she pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on 10 hits and struck out one.
The Setters are back in action on Saturday, March 23 as Pace will host the Skyhawks of Stonehill College for an NE-10 doubleheader starting at 12 pm.
