PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University women's basketball team took on Northeast-10 foe Assumption Greyhounds in a non-conference game, getting upended 65-45 on Tuesday night.
Sophomores Yuni Sher (Poughkeepsie, NY/Long Island Lutheran) (Poughkeepsie, NY/Long Island Lutheran) and Rachel Dortch (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington) (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington) led the Setters with 11 points apiece. Junior Shanice Maynard (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson / Coppin State) (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) had eight points and eight rebounds while freshman Kirsten Dodge (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) contributed seven boards.
After Pace (0-2) opened the game up 13-11 as sophomore Sher scored seven points in the span. After the Greyhounds went on an 11-0 run, the Setters responded with a 10-3 run during the final 3:25 of the half to close the gap to 24-23 at intermission.
In the second stanza, Pace came out attacking and took an early lead, but Assumption was able to counter and pull away throughout the remainder of the half.
The Setters are back in action on Saturday at 1:30 pm when they host the LIU Post Pioneers.
