BROOKVILLE, NY- The Setters fell to the Pioneers of LIU Post 58-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon. Pace falls to 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the NE-10, while the Pioneers improve to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
LIU Post got on the board in the first half behind four touchdown passes by Steven Laurino, who added a rushing score in the half as well. The Pioneers also scored on defense as LIU Post led 44-0 at halftime. LIU Post added a pair of second half touchdowns to account for the final point total. The Setters were limited to 108 yards of total offense.
For the Setters, Jashon Dawson (Passaic, NJ/Passaic) (Passaic, NJ/Passaic) rushed for 45 yards on 13 carries, while Delaney Wallace (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) added 17 yards on the ground. Luiz Ribeiro (White Plains, NY/White Plains) (White Plains, NY/White Plains) led the Pace receivers with four receptions for 42 yards, while Wallace caught six passes for 21 yards. On defense, Joseph Roman (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph By The Sea) led the Setters with 15 tackles (eight solo), while Addison Casey (Eliot, ME/Marshwood) (Eliot, ME/Marshwood) finished with nine tackles.
The Setters returns home on next Saturday, October 26 for Homecoming 2013 as Pace welcomes the Greyhounds of Assumption College in a 1 pm kickoff. Some of the events schedule for next Saturday are the SAAC 5K run in the morning outside the Goldstein Fitness Center. Dean Lisa Bardill Moscaritolo will be hosting the Chili Cook-Off in the Tailgate Lot prior to the game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Pace Athletic scarf. At halftime, the Pace Drum Line will perform and the 2013 Homecoming King and Queen will also be crowned between the second and third quarters.
