Women's Volleyball Splits Day 2 of the Rollins Tournament

WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Setters wrapped up day two of the Rollins College Tournament as Pace split two matches to even their record at 2-2 on the season. Pace dropped their opening match to host Rollins 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-19), while winning a thrilling five set match 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 25-27, 25-18, 15-12) over Chesnut Hill.

In the opening match against California, Pa., senior Nora Rugova (Mt. Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) (Mt. Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) led the Setters with nine kills along with nine digs. Senior Tamilee Webb (Hartsdale, NY/Ardsley) (Hartsdale, NY/Ardsley) netted six kills, while Brooke Speyerer (Winter Haven, FL/Lake Region) (Winter Haven, FL/Lake Region) tallied 18 assists and eight digs. Senior Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) led the team with 13 digs while freshman Megan Kurz (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) (San Diego, CA/Patrick Henry) added five kills and three service aces.

The Setters rallied back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Chestnut Hill in their final match at the Rolling Tournament. Rugova tallied 16 kills and 22 assists, while Speyerer totaled 54 assists and 12 digs. Webb finished with 15 kills and two blocks, while Kurz netted 13 kills. Freshman Alyssa Marchino (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) recorded 17 digs, while Sara Atai (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) totaled 16 digs.

The Setters return back to the northeast as they will travel to Caldwell College in non-conference action on Tuesday, September 4 at 7 pm
