PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Setters split a doubleheader against the Greyhounds of Assumption College in Northeast-10 Southwest Division action. Pace took the opener 2-1 in 11 innings, while Assumption took the nightcap 1-0. Pace moves to 22-16 overall, 12-8 in the NE-10 and 10-2 in the division, while the Greyhounds are now 11-21-1 overall, 5-11-1 in the NE-10 and 4-8 in division play.

The Greyhounds got a sac fly in the third inning as they took a 1-0 lead. The Setters rallied in the fourth as James Pjura (Shelton, CT/Shelton) (Shelton, CT/Shelton) singled and stole second base. Pjura eventually came around to score on an error as Pace tied the game at one. The game would go into extra innings as Pace capitalized on a Greyhound error in the 11th to take game one. Joe Lombardi (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) singled to start the 11th and reached third base with two outs. Tyler Collins (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic) (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic) hit a fly ball to center field that was dropped and Lombardi came home with the winning run.

Michael Tamburino (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) tossed a complete game, allowing one run on six hits in 11 innings of work. Tamburino (5-2) struck out six in the game.

In the nightcap, both starters tossed complete games as Dan Bradley for Assumption and Neil Pezzullo (Harwich, MA/Harwich) combined to allow nine hits in the game. Pezzullo (5-1) dropped his first decision of the season as he allowed one run on four hits and struck out 10.

The Setters and the Greyhounds will wrap up their three-game series on Sunday, April 22 at Finnerty Field at 8:30 am
