Setters Fall to Bloomfield 8-2

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Setters fell to the Deacons on Bloomfield College 8-2 in non-conference action. Pace falls to 21-15 overall, while the Deacons improve to 19-11 on the season.

Bloomfield struck first with a run in the first and the second for an early 2-0 lead. Pace tied it in the second as  Joe Lombardi (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) singled with one out and scored on a two-run homerun by Tyler Collins (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic) (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic). The Deacons connected on a two-run homerun in the third and went on to score a run in every inning except the final two inning enroute to the win. Lombardi went 3-for-4 on the day for Pace.

On the hill, Jonathan Chudy (Goshen, NY/Goshen) (Goshen, NY/Goshen) went 2 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on three hits, while striking out one to fall to 1-2 on the season. Tom McIntosh (Stamford, CT/Stamford) (Stamford, CT/Stamford) tossed 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, while fanning one. Robert Perez (Bronx, NY/Trinity Pawling) (Bronx, NY/Trinity Pawling) allowed one run and one hit in an inning of work, while Chris Gili (Waccabuc, NY/Eastport-South Manor) tossed two scoreless innings and struck out one.

The Setters return to action on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday April 22 when they will host Assumption College for a three-game Northeast-10 Southwest Division series at Finnerty Field. Saturday's games will be a doubleheader starting at noon, while Sunday is "Pace Goes Pink" as the teams will conclude the weekend series with a 1 pm game.
