Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

PACE DOWNED IN TOUGH LOSS TO ASSUMPTION

Pleasantville, NY- The Pace University men's basketball team lost this afternoon to Assumption College by a score of 74-67 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup. The Setters fall to 10-12 overall, and 6-11 in conference play while the Greyhounds improve to 11-12 overall, and 8-9 in the NE-10.

The Setters came out of the gate scorching hot going on a 16-0 run in the first five minutes. Relentless offense and defense would continue to the halfway point in the first period still leading the Greyhounds by a 15 point margin, 27-12. With five minutes remaining in the first half Pace would still continue to pour it on the Assumption Greyhounds as they again lead by 15 points, 36-21. However, the Greyhounds would show some resiliency cutting the Setter lead by the break to nine points, 42-33.

That Greyhound resiliency would transfer over to the second period as well. Assumption College would go on a 7-0 run to start the period, not allowing Pace to score a single bucket till the 17 minute mark. Battle would continue throughout the remainder of the second period with Pace and Assumption both trading leads late into the remainder of the game. Unfortunately for Pace, with seven minutes to go in regulation the Greyhounds would take the lead and never give it back. Assumption would improve their lead to seven points to finish on top, 74-67.

Shinning for the Setters despite the loss was Adrian Mills (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) with 13 points, five rebound, and three assists. Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond) also posted respectable numbers with 13 points, and seven rebounds.

The Setters return to action Tuesday, February 8th when they matchup against Southern Connecticut State in an NE-10 Conference showdown at 7:30 pm in New Haven, CT.
