Box Score ALBANY, N.Y.- Denzel Primus-Devonish (Riverdale, MD/St. John's College) (Riverdale, MD/St. John's College HS) set the school freshman assist record with six assists as the Setters lost to Saint Rose 64-59 in Northeast-10 action. The Setters fall to 10-14 overall and 6-13 in the NE-10, while the Golden Knights improve to 17-7 and 12-7 in conference play.
A close first half over the opening 12 minutes as Saint Rose would use a late 15-2 run to pull ahead by 14 points at 31-17 with 2:59 left in the opening half The Setters would slice the lead to 33-24 at the break.
The Setters would open the second half strong as Primus-Devonish hit a triple to start the half, while a three-points play to key a 10-2 run to start the second half. Keon Williams (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) and Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond) each scored in the run as Pace pulled to within one point at 35-34.
The teams would trade baskets over the next six minutes with the Setters tying the score at 43 on a Williams tip-in with 10:09 remaining in the game. The Golden Knights used a 9-2 burst to pull ahead 52-45 lead with six minutes to go in the game. Saint Rose would lead by as much as nine down the stretch but the Setters chipped away and cut it to 60-59 in a William jumper with 27 second on the clock. The Golden Knights would hold off the Setter comeback as they converted all four free throws in the final 25 seconds to take the win.
For Pace, Williams posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards, while Primus-Devonish finished with 16 points, six assists and three rebounds. Daley led all rebounders with 12 for the game.
The Setters return to action on Wednesday, February 16 when Pace will host Le Moyne College at 7:30 pm.
