Dominican, Assumption Comes Up With Wins on Day Two of Pace Tip-Off Classic

ASSUMPTION CRUISES TO WIN OVER NYACK
SETTERS COME UP SHORT AGAINST DOMINICAN

Game 1- ASSUMPTION 69 NYACK 49

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- On day two of the Pace Tip-Off Classic, the Greyhounds of Assumption cruised to a 69-49 win over the Warriors of Nyack as Assumption picks up its first win of the season.

For Assumption, Kevin Donohue led the Greyhounds with a game-high 21 points along with six rebounds. Tim Beinert finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Ryan Rozsnaki added 12 assists and nine rebounds.

For Nyack, Ryan Woodard posted a double-double with 12 point and 10 boards, while Jose Pena-Benjamin totaled 10 points and two assists

GAME 2- DOMINICAN 55, PACE 52

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Setters of Pace University came up short in a 55-52 loss to the Chargers of Dominican College to wrap up the Pace Tip-Off Classic. The Setters fall to 1-1, while Dominican improves to 2-0 on the season.

In a game that featured seven lead changes and nine ties, the largest lead by either team was eight as the teams played a fairly even game. The Setters were led by Keon Williams (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) who finished with 14 points and three steals. Pace had a trio of players score seven points as Kai Smith (Upper Marlboro, MD/St. Mary's Ryken) (Upper Marlboro, MD/St. Mary's Ryken), Adrian Mills (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) and Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond) hit that mark, while Daley grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

For Dominican, Cory Quimby led all scorers as he finished with a double-double with 22 points and 22 rebounds. Leone Porter totaled nine points and five assists.  

The Setters return to action on Wednesday, November 16 when they will open up their Northeast-10 Conference schedule in a home doubleheader against Le Moyne College at 7:30 pm.
