Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

SETTERS PREVAIL IN NE-10 CLASH

Pleasantville, NY- The Pace University men's basketball team won tonight over Southern New Hampshire by a score of 64-57 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup. The Setters improve to 9-8 overall, and 5-7 in conference play while the Penmen fall to 6-10 overall, and 2-10 in the NE-10.

Both the Setters and Penmen got off to decent starts trading baskets for much of the first period. By the 10 minute mark in the first half the score was knotted up at 11 all. With no clear picture of the more superior team both schools would continue on their conquest to pull away in the score column. The half however would end almost the way it had started with Pace leading by only one point, 23-22

The second period started out slow like the first with both teams trading baskets. However, with 10 minutes to go in regulation things would begin to get interesting. Pace would lead 41-35 but Southern New Hampshire wouldn't go away. Within a couple of minutes the Penmen would narrow the Setter lead to just one point, 46-45. On their next possession they would strike taking the lead for the next five minutes. With only four minutes to play in regulation Pace would take the lead back at 54-53, a lead they would not give up. For the remainder of the game both teams traded baskets as well as their share of fouls, however the Penmen could not overcome such a late lead. The final score would end up with Pace on top by seven points, 64-57.

Shinning for the Setters was Adrian Mills (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI) with 17 points and five total rebounds. Denzel Primus-Devonish (Riverdale, MD/St. John's College) would post an impressive eight assists, along with 11 points, and three rebounds.

The Setters return to action Saturday, January 22 when they matchup against Merrimack College in an NE-10 Conference showdown at 3:00 pm in Andover, MA.
