Pleasantville, NY- The Pace women's basketball team won a non-conference matchup over the Clippers of Concordia College by a score of 79-38. With the win, the Setters improve to 11-1 overall, and 5-1 in the Northeast-10, while the Clippers fall to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the CACC.
Pace got off to a slow start through the first six minutes down 5-6. However, after Maral Javadifar (Flushing, NY/The Mary Louis Academy)'s (Flushing, NY/The Mary Louis Academy) go ahead basket the Clippers would never regain the lead. With great downtown shooting from Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) (Windsor, CT/Windsor) the Setters would lead as much as 20 points at the break.
The second half would mimic the first. Pace never let down and finished the game on top by 41 total points.
Shinning for the Setters was senior forward Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) with 19 points, two total rebounds, and five assists. She continues her quest for 1,000 career points as she needs only 14 more. Emily Trapani (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) would score 17 points and pull down seven rebounds, while Brittany Shields (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) scored 9 points and totaled eight rebounds. Kerri White (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy) tallied nine points as well, four rebounds, and two assists.
The Setters return to action Sunday, January 2nd when they matchup against Conference opponent Assumption College in Worcester, MA at 1:30 pm.
