SETTERS DROP NE-10 OPENER TO ADELPHI

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Setters opened their NE-10 schedule with a 90-59 loss to the Panthers of Adelphi University. The Setters fall to 2-1 and 0-1 in the NE-10, while the Panthers improve to 1-0 and 1-0 in conference play.

The Setters trailed from the start but Pace would hang around with an Adrian Mill (Woodbridge, VA/Paul VI)  trifecta pulling the Setters to within one point at 15-14 midway through the opening half. The Panthers would use a 12-0 run to pull ahead by 13 points and take a 34-20 lead into the break. The Panthers would maintain their lead through the second half and hand the Setters their first conference loss.

For Pace, Keon Williams (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack/Iona College) recorded his third double-double of the season as he led the Setters with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jonathan Merceus (Union, NJ/Union) (Union, NJ/Union)  continues to make an impact this season as he finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. Justin Alston (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond) chipped in with 12 points.

The Setters return to action on Friday, November 19 when they will host St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:30 pm at Pace's Pleasantville campus.
