PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Jonfrey Sanchez (Bogota, N.J./Bogota) (Bogota,
NJ/Bogota) posted 13 tackles, including three for losses,
as he was named Homecoming MVP in the Setters 27-0 loss to
Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Setters
fall to 0-6 and 0-4 in the NE-10, while the Skyhawks improve to 3-3
overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Stonehill offense was led by Eddie Vachon, who rushed for
122 yards on 25 carries and caught one pass for 25 yards. Vachon
also accounted for all the scoring on the day as he rushed for four
touchdowns, with three coming in the second half.
The Setters were limited to 135 yards of total offense with
freshman Ryan Kasdorf (Newhall, Calif./Notre Dame H.S.) (Newhall, CA/Notre Dame
H.S.) tossed for 72 yards on 7-for-18 passing in his first
career start. On defense, Sanchez led the way with 13 tackles,
while David Lopez (Ozone Park, N.Y./Christ the King) (Ozone Park, NY/Christ the King)
recorded eight tackles along with one interception. Yves
Delpeche (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie/HVCC) posted seven
tackles, while Obi Onejeme (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill
East) and Dan Parker (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Deerfield Beach/LaSalle Univ.) (Fort Lauderdale,
FL/Deerfield Beach/LaSalle University) each totaled six
tackles and one sack.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, October 23 when Pace
will travel to Waltham, MA for a Northeast-10 Conference battle
against the Falcons of Bentley University at 2 pm.
