Box Score PACE FALLS TO ADELPHI ON
FINAL DAY OF MOLLOY TOURNAMENT
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Pace men's basketball team dropped to
1-2 on the season as they fell to the Panthers of Adelphi
University 78-63 on the final day of the Molloy College Tournament.
The Panthers improve to 2-2 on the season.
After a slow opening eight minutes of action, Adelphi would pull
ahead with 12-1 run to build a 31-20 lead with just under five
minutes left in the opening period. The Setters would cut their
deficit to six on a triple by Justin Alston (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond H.S.) (Bronx, NY/St.
Raymond) and a pair of free throws by Wesley
Dunning (Laurel, MD/Gonzaga High).The Panthers would a
10-1 over the final 2:20 of the first half to take a 41-26 lead
into the break. Alston led the Setters with five points in the
first 20 minutes of action.
The Setters would battle back in the second half, closing to
within 10 points as Ryan Woods (Staten Island, NY/St. Peters Boys) (Staten Island, NY/St.
Peter's) led Pace with 17 points in the final period,
while tallying five rebounds for the game.
For the game, Delroy Daley (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond H.S.) (Bronx, NY/St.
Raymond) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10
rebounds.
The Setters return to action on Tuesday, November 25 when they
travel to New Haven, CT for a Northeast-10 Conference game against
the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University scheduled for a
7:30 pm tip-off.
