Box Score ALBANY, NY - The Pace University men's basketball team lost to
the College of Saint Rose, 83-62, in a Northeast-10 Conference
match-up. The Setters fall to 4-5 and 2-3 in the NE-10. The Golden
Knights improve to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
After tight action midway through the first half, Saint Rose
used a 15-3 run to open up a 15 point lead. The Setters rallied to
cut their deficit to eight points with just over two minutes left
in the half as Carlos Howard (Fort Washington, MD/Gonzaga College High) (Fort Washington, MD/Gonzaga
College High) hit a pair of jumpers and Ryan
Williams (Centreville, VA/Paul VI) nailed a three-pointer
to lead the Setters back. Right before the half, the Golden
Knights Mike DePaoli hit a three-pointer to put Saint Rose back up
by 11 and lead Pace 34-23 at the break
Pace opened the second half, chipping away at the Saint Rose
lead as Desmond-Quincy Jones

and Randy Wilson (Peekskill, NY/Peekskill)

each hit a pair of jumpers to trim their deficit to seven points in
early second half action. Saint Rose responded with a 19-1 run to
open up a 25 point lead and remained in control for the rest of the
game. The Setters got as close as 14 points late in the game but
could not cut into the deficit any further.
For the Setters, Williams led the way 16 points and five steals.
Quincy-Jones chipped in 11 points, while Howard tallied 12 points,
four assists and three steals. Oneil Morgan (Kingston, Jamaica/Excelsior)
(Kingston,
Jamaica/ Excelsior) and Wilson
tied for the team-high in rebounds with 10 apiece. For the game,
the Setters shot season-low 32.0% from the field and 11.1% from
long range.
The Setters return to action on Thursday, December 7th, when
host the Post University Eagles in a non-conference match-up at
Pace's New York City campus for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
