Box Score FOOTBALL HELD SCORELESS, LOSE TO AIC 7-0
SPRINGFIELD, MA.-The Pace University football team dropped a
Northeast-10 Conference match-up against the Yellow Jackets of
American International College, 7-0. Pace drops to 3-5
overall and 2-5 in the NE-10 while AIC improves to 5-2 overall and
in conference play.
The loss is Pace's fourth straight of the season. Pace has
scored just six points in their last 12 quarters dating back to a
4th quarter touchdown against Bentley on Friday, October 6th.
Marlon Beckles scored AIC's only points of the game on a 25-yard
touchdown run with 14 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Beckles would finish the day with 194 yards on 36 carries.
AIC quarterback Shane Murphy was 8-for-15 for 85 yards and one
interception.
Pace's Chris Anzano (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) picked off his 9th pass
of the season and 22nd for Pace a team. Anzano entered the game as
the NCAA Division II statistical leader at 1.1 interceptions per
game. Joe Streany (Croton, NY/Croton-Harmon) had a game-high 11
tackles. Brian Schuster (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and Bobby
Guy (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) each finished with nine tackles while
combining on one sack.
Pace returns to action on Saturday, October 28, 2006 when they
host Merrimack College at 1:00 p.m. at Pace Field on the
Pleasantville campus of Pace University. The game will
feature Senior Day festivities prior to the start of the game.
