PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – On a Saturday Senior Day, Pace University Football wrapped up its 2025 campaign, falling 24-10 to Franklin Pierce at Northwell Stadium. The Setters battled for all four quarters, highlighted by a resilient defensive performance and a late first-half touchdown that brought the Blue and Gold within one score at the break. With the loss, Pace closes the season at 0-11 overall and 0-7 in Northeast 10 Conference play.
Pace's defense set the tone early, holding the Ravens to a field goal midway through the opening quarter and forcing multiple stops behind the line of scrimmage. Despite an early 10-0 deficit, the Setters stayed within striking distance thanks to timely pressure, led by
Travis Osterhout's team-high 16 tackles, and consistent work from the defensive front.
Ali Seidou recorded two sacks while
Mathaias Edmond delivered a key forced fumble and recovery late in the half to swing momentum.
That turnover set up Pace's first scoring drive, and the Blue and Gold capitalized immediately. With 11 seconds left in the half, quarterback
Ah-Shaun Davis connected with
Elizjah Lewis for a 26-yard touchdown strike, capping a quick four-play, 35-yard march to send the Setters into the locker room trailing just 10-7.
The Setters opened the second half with more energy, moving the ball into Franklin Pierce territory behind Davis's efficient passing and Lewis's playmaking. Lewis finished the day with 102 receiving yards on seven catches. Pace appeared poised to tie the game, but a blocked 41-yard field goal attempt was returned for a Ravens touchdown, pushing the deficit to 17-7 at the 5:04 mark of the third quarter.
Davis and the offense continued to attack through the air, with the quarterback finishing with 277 yards while spreading completions to eight different receivers.
Christopher Adegunle,
Gary Wilkins, and
Donovan Beauvoir all played key roles in sustaining drives. A 23-yard field goal from
Marc Malandruccolo early in the fourth quarter cut the deficit to 24-10 after a 10-play, 49-yard progression, but the Setters were unable to draw closer as the Ravens controlled possession in the final minutes.
Defensively, Pace put together one of its strongest outings of the season, holding Franklin Pierce to just four third-down conversions and forcing two turnovers. Seidou and
Denzel Williams combined for three sacks, while Osterhout's sideline-to-sideline presence anchored the unit in his season finale.
The 2025 season has officially concluded as the Setters will now turn their attention toward the offseason as preparations begin for the 2026 campaign.
