Box Score SETTERS FALL 7-3 TO ASSUMPTION IN FINAL HOME GAME OF SEASON
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University football team lost
their final home game of the 2005 season, 7-3, to Assumption
College. Pace drops to 2-7 overall and will finish with a 2-7
record in the Northeast-10. Assumption improves to 4-5
overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Assumption scored the game's first points on an Austin
Davis (Lakeland, FL) 3-yard run. The touchdown came after an
11-play 60 yard drive that started in the last minute of the first
quarter. Davis would ramble for 143 yards on the day and
would also have two catches for 19 yards.
With less than six minutes to play in third quarter, the Setters
took possession on the Assumption 18 yard line. The Setters
would run eight plays, moving just 13 yards, which would result in
a 22-yard field goal by Luigi Casale (White Plains,
NY). The three points would pull the Setters
to within four at 7-3.
Defensively, Pace was led by freshman Brian Schuster
(Miller Place, NY) with 12 tackles including one
sack. For Assumption, Mike Pruell (Walpole, MA) and Chris
Martino (Lindcroft, NJ) each finished with 11 tackles while Pruell
had two sacks.
The Setters will close out their 2005 season when they travel to
Jersey City, NJ on Friday, November 4th to take on St.
Peter's College at 7:00 p.m.
