Daniel Roibal arrived at Pace University in the fall of 2026, bringing coaching and basketball operations experience across all three NCAA divisions, along with a strong background in recruiting, player development, scouting, game preparation and program operations.
Prior to joining the Setters, Roibal served as an assistant coach at American International College beginning in August 2022. With the Yellow Jackets, Roibal led scouting efforts, oversaw player development initiatives and assisted with game preparation and recruiting. During his time on staff, AIC maintained a team GPA above 3.0.
Before AIC, Roibal spent the 2021-22 season at Virginia Military Institute as the assistant director of basketball operations. At VMI, he helped oversee the program's operational budget, assisted with player development and recruiting, contributed to practice planning and scouting, and coordinated team travel and equipment. He also supervised team managers and helped organize community service initiatives.
Roibal began his collegiate coaching career at Rutgers University-Newark, serving as a graduate assistant coach from 2019-21. His responsibilities included recruiting, coordinating campus visits, scouting, strength and conditioning and monitoring student-athlete academic progress. He prepared and presented 10 scouting reports during his tenure, with Rutgers-Newark posting a 10-3 record in those games.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Roibal served as a head coach with the NJ Panthers AAU program. He coached and developed 20 youth athletes, with 85 percent advancing to play collegiate basketball, while placing an emphasis on skill development, game strategy and recruiting exposure.
Throughout his coaching career, Roibal has helped coach and recruit more than 15 decorated student-athletes, including all-conference, all-region and conference major award recipients at AIC, Rutgers-Newark and VMI. Among them is Justice Ellison, who earned All-East Region First Team honors and led the Northeast 10 Conference in scoring while at AIC.
Before entering the coaching profession, Roibal was a student-athlete at Drew University, where he served as a team captain during a 23-7 season. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Drew in 2019 before completing a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Rutgers-Newark in 2021, graduating with a 3.9 GPA.
